Crocketts.net Release Info:
After a series of high-energy screaming numbers, the Crocketts switched gears a bit with the more-laid-back 'Explain'...a catchy little tune that Davey often changes the lyrics to during live performances. Certainly not be overlooked is the cover of the Glen Campbell country classic 'Rhinestone Cowboy' and Rich's lead vocal of 'Inside Head-On'.
Vinyl Information:
Explain also comes on 7" clear blue vinyl with Explain on side A and Rhinestone Cowboy on side B. Etchings on Side A: BDG-5002527 - A' GRAZ - THE EXCHANGE. Etchings on Side B: BDG-5002527 - B'.

You never explain to me why it ever happened
happened in the first place I don't know
You never explain to me who I am or where am I from
or why'd your (?) all go wrong I don't know.
And now with backs against the wall
and I have lost control of you
You make me always feel so small
and I have lost control of you
You never explain to me why you left me standing
alone at my front door crying out your name in vain.
You never explain to me what is all the fuss about
why you have to scream and shout all the time
And now with backs against the wall
and I have lost control of you
You make me always feel so small
and I have lost control of you
You got to help yourself
your all you've ever had
you got to help yourself
your all you ever
all you ever had
all you ever had
your all you ever had
all you ever had
your all you ever had
all you ever had,
your all you ever had
All you've ever
Now with back's against the wall
and I have lost control of you
You make me always feel so small
and I have lost control of you
I've been walkin' this road so long
singin' the same old song
I know every crack in these dirty sidewalk's of Broadway.
Where hustle's the name of the game
and nice guys get washed away like the snow in the rain
There's been a lot of compromisin'
on the road to my horizon
but I'm gonna be
where the lights
are shining on me
Like a Rhinestone Cowboy,
Ridin' out on my horse
in a star spangled rodeo.
Like a Rhinestone Cowboy
Getting cards and letters
from people I don't even know
and offers comin' over the phone
Well I really don't mind the rain
a smile can hide all the pain
but I like ridin' the train that's goin' the long way
and I dream of the things that I'll do
with a subway token
and a dollar tucked inside my shoe.
There's been a lot of compromisin'
on the road to my horizon
but I'm gonna be
where the lights
are shining on me
Like a Rhinestone Cowboy
ridin' out on my horse
in a star spangled rodeo.
Like a Rhinestone Cowboy
Getting cards and letters
from people I don't even know
and offers comin' over the phone
And so my feet
heavilly hit the ground
and then i sense
a little fuzzy sound
no one can tell mea road to go
no one can feed me
now they don't know
but don't you feel bad now cos of my
mad merry way
after the night time
i've got my inside head on
don't you feel bad now cos of my
mad merry way
after the night time
i've got my inside head on
(?) bleeding (?) (?)
(?) (?) (?) minds eye
ladies and music wizzing past my head
(?) (?) (?) (?) (?)
but don't you feel bad now cos of my
mad merry way
after the night time
i've got my inside head on
don't you feel bad now cos of my
mad merry way
after the night time
i've got my inside head on
brightly car lights erase all sight
can i will I (?) (?) (?) (?)
rool em and stoke em have a little smoke
head up (?) (?) (?) (?) (?)
but don't you feel bad now cos of my
mad merry way
after the night time
i've got my inside head on
don't you feel bad now cos of my
mad merry way
after the night time
i've got my inside head on
don't you feel bad now cos of my
mad merry way
after the night time
i've got my inside head on
